About The Old Rectory
A stay at The Old Rectory transforms a short break to quaint Shropshire into a luxury, romantic getaway.
Each of the guest house's six rooms is decorated, or rather “staged”, in its own opulent style. Each possesses its own individual character, and each has its own unique fittings. These include four-poster beds, flat screen TV's with Freeview and different luxury baths, Jacuzzis or showers. Some even feature their own mini book libraries and real fireplaces.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout and onsite parking is available.
A large, top quality, full English breakfast is included in the stay. There are also several ethnic and traditional restaurants in Broseley and the surrounding nearby villages.
On the doorstep the World Heritage site of Ironbridge, The Old Rectory is an ideal base for exploring the other attractions linked to the Industrial Revolution. The Severn Valley Railway and RAF Cosford are close by.
Positive Reviews
positive:
The enormous breakfast sets you up for the day
The thing most guests take away from The Old Rectory is the feeling of satisfaction after an enormous English breakfast. Many feel that it keeps them going all day long and that it is exceptionally well-cooked.
positive:
Immaculately maintained accommodation
The rooms of The Old Rectory are not just cleaned, they are kept in pristine condition. To such an extent that just about everyone notices.
positive:
Attentive service
What stands out at this guest house is the lengths the owner goes to to keep his guests happy. He doesn't just show them their room, he engages with them and gives advice. He does anything he can to ensure they have a perfect stay.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rules, rules, rules
A spotless, pristine guesthouse comes with a price: inflexible rules. A 4pm check in doesn't suit everyone, even if it is the cost of having immaculate rooms. Breakfast in bed is also out of the question, whilst late check-ins or service after 10pm may not be easy to obtain.
negative:
A trickle of criticism about the bathrooms
Negative comments of The Old Rectory are pretty rare occurrences. When they happen, they are often apologetic in nature and about the bathrooms. Guests understand that state-of-the-art Jacuzzis are bound to go wrong now and again. The water pressure, however, seems to be the main bug-bear of guests; namely, the showers not being powerful enough.
negative:
Need a little more space?
Few guests disagree that the rooms are sensationally fitted out. A few people think though that it is just a little bit too much: there are too many mirrors, bookshelves take up too much space or there's just too much clutter. You can't please everyone.
