Along with your standard cereals, juice, tea & coffee, you also get a decent serving of eggs, sausages, toast and pastries when you stay here - and it's all free. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Having a good king or queen-sized bed and high-quality down pillows and duvets as standard in every room means you can look forward to a decent night's rest no matter what standard accommodation you book.

Not having many restaurants in the local area means you are kind of stuck when it comes to filling your belly in the evenings. Thankfully, the inclusion of a fridge and microwave in every room gives you the option of nuking up food as and when you like. Handy.

This hotel is connected to a large banquet facility which does a pretty good trade in hosting wedding receptions. Unfortunately (for hotel guests, that is) the noise made by these events can often be heard late into the night throughout the hotel. Be sure to pack some ear plugs, just in case.

Guests have noted that the availability of hot water can be quite unreliable in some bedrooms. Something to bear in mind if you're thinking of visiting during the winter.

It has to be said that the walls separating the Woodbine's guest rooms are pretty thin. Another good reason to pack some ear plugs..
