St Ives Hotel (Lytham St Annes, United Kingdom)

A lovely hotel, centrally-situated amidst restaurants, beach and waterfront activity, a beautiful stately pier, plenty of shops, bustling nightlife and entertainment.  Lots of free parking available on-site.  Pleasant for families with children as there's ample kid-oriented merriment to choose from.  Dining areas are modern with chic fixtures and the indoor swimming pool is pristine - check into lesson times if you'd prefer to avoid (or, perhaps, participate in) them.  Excellent value for the money.

As the ongoing refurbishment nears completion, the newly renovated rooms are stylish and contemporary.  Clean and well-equipped with amenities and stunning views.  Beautifully-manicured gardens stand between the lot and shoreline, so the best sea views (as well as quietest accommodations) are found in upper level rooms.

Some rooms are larger and more recently renovated than others.  Ground floor rooms may offer those with walking difficulties better arrangements, but others felt they were a bit cramped.  A few have had issues with insufferable heat and/or noise from extractor fans without staff being able to provide any adjustment in some rooms.  Others on upper floors (especially in the main building) are quite spacious with large bathrooms.  Ask to see the units before check-in whenever possible.

Some felt the venue was overpriced in some ways, such as rooms not yet renovated and buffet food.  Entertainment may not follow through on nightly shows, so get some clarity on this at booking.  

Some opted for walking outside the building whenever possible to avoid the seemingly infinite corridor complexities.
