Positive Reviews
positive:
Pleasant neighbourhood has a lot of charm
A significant number of guests really warmed to the local vibe of this residential neighbourhood during their stay. Visitors said that shopping at local markets and eating at convivial restaurants afforded them a pleasant insight into the less-touristy side of Tokyo.
positive:
Courteous staff members are very accommodating
It is clear from the comments made by former guests that the small army of employees who work at this hotel are genuinely keen to ensure travellers fully enjoy their stay. Consistently courteous behaviour and an infectious enthusiasm were the attributes which impressed visitors most.
positive:
Guest rooms are spotless
The vast majority of guests who've stayed here have noted, with some degree of admiration, that the accommodations in this hotel are always immaculately spick-and-span.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Hotel is far away from the city centre
Numerous travellers who've stayed here felt that, despite the fact Ueno is a 20-minute train ride away, this hotel is just too far away from the centre of the city to be truly convenient.
negative:
Noise from nearby trains can be an issue
Being so close to Keisei-Koiwa train station ensures there is effectively no way of escaping the sound (and in some cases, the sensation) of frequent trains rumbling by. Not surprisingly, very few guests appreciated such persistent disturbance, particularly at night.
negative:
Accommodations look a little tired
Many guests have been less-than-impressed by the rather worn-looking furnishings and scuffed carpets in the guest rooms. Indeed, most visitors agreed that a tactical revamp was overdue.
