Positive Reviews
positive:
Decent central location
While the hotel was not quite right opposite the Uffizi
gallery, it was in central Florence,
and well within walking distance of the major amenities and attractions of
central Florence. Guests clearly
appreciated the convenience of it all
positive:
Good value for central Florence
Whatever small problems guests may have had with the hotel, they seemed to have paled in significance compared to the great deal they believed they got for what was, after all, a pretty central hotel in Florence.
positive:
Excellent helpful staff
Again and again guests complimented the staff. They were said to be very welcoming on arrival and also helpful when it came to advising guests on practical tourist matters. Also, even guests who spoke English as a second language themselves complimented the staff's ability to communicate in English.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms looking a bit tired
This was pointed out by quite a number of guests. They said that it had clearly been some time since the rooms had seen an update. While they didn't seem to have any issue with functionality, many felt that the rooms desperately needed to be renovated to remain relevant.
negative:
Very noisy environment
This was perhaps the most common, and most serious, complaint. The hotel was said to be situated right on a busy main street, with the sound of the cars zooming by having a negative impact on many guests sleep.
negative:
Problems with hot water supply
A surprising number of guests seemed to have problems with the hot water supply in their bathrooms. The reason is unclear, but it does seem that there is perhaps not enough hot water available to allow all guests to shower at popular times.
