A few kilometers afield Mossel Bay offers a museum which showcases the vessel Barthomeus Dias sailed around the southern tip of Africa on his way to the East - trading spices. Oudtshoorn is the place to visit to view the world renown Cango Caves. The area is well known for its ostrich farming .Buy an ostrich leather bag or wallet as a souvenir of you visit. Or an ostrich feather! Herold's Bay does not offer bright lights or night live- it is pure relaxation, peace and quiet in safe surroundings!
