Located in the pretty village of Koutouloufari, the family-run Galaxy Villas are set within lush gardens and offer views of Hersonissos Bay. The accommodation consists of a series of villas. These offer views of either the sea, mountains, or surrounding gardens. Inside, accommodation includes a fully-equipped kitchen area, air conditioning and television. Galaxy Villas surround a central building, which contains the reception area, Internet corner, the dining room and bar. There is also a beautiful swimming pool. Breakfast is continental style. À la carte Greek cuisine is served indoors or outdoors by the bar and restaurant. Ingredients are fresh and locally sourced and include the hotel’s own family’s organic olive oil. The villas overlook Hersonissos town. This is one kilometre from the complex and takes three-quarters of an hour to walk. Aposelemi Gorge is a little farther taking fifteen-minutes to drive to. Heraklion airport is a twenty-five minute drive away.

Surrounding the complex of villas is a range of amenities. The beach takes around fifteen minutes to get to on foot. The villages of Koutouloufari and Piskopiano are practically on the doorstep with plenty of nearby restaurants and the old part of Hersoni
The whole Galaxy Villas complex is a family run enterprise. This shows in the helpful, friendly and personal service that the staff offer. The manager in particular works extremely hard to ensure that guests are accommodated and are made to feel welcome.
Some complained that their rooms were quite shaded and dark. Depending on the season, some villas can get cold at night and feel a little damp. Some of the accommodation is basic and some former guests found that the necessary kitchen tools were lacking.
While the grounds surrounding the villas are very well maintained some found that the pool itself was too small for their liking. This more compact pool area means at peak seasons sun loungers can be hard to come by.
Onsite parking is one of the features of this complex, however, there are only six spaces available for all guests with cars. In peak season it can be impossible to find a free space. There is however, a private car park nearby, but this too is much used
