There are several shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel's location and the Tuck Museum and the Seacoast Fire Museum are also within walking distance. A number of guests found the smell that lingered in the resort to be displeasing; some guests found that the smell of stale cigarettes clung to their room, presumably from past guests. Others found that there was a mildew-type smell that lingered in the accommodation and they found this disappointing.
