The new look rooms at the Premier Inn Greenock seem to be a big hit with guests. With a large TV, deluxe bed and impressive shower, they’re considerably better than what you might reasonably expect from a budget hotel room.

The hotel’s setting along the River Clyde offers up some great views, although you’ll need to ask for a room on the same side as the river. The area seems like it’s fairly peaceful, yet the big city attractions of Glasgow remain within easy reach.

Bar a few incidents, guests at the Premier Inn Greenock seem impressed by the standard of customer service at this hotel. Guests often offer examples of ways in which the team have gone out of their way to help.

Several guests complain that although the rooms are impressive, they are often far too hot. The fact that the windows don’t open beyond a few inches doesn't help much. You’ll be provided with a fan but it sounds like you may need more than one.

Disappointment with the restaurant crops up fairly regularly. A number of guests comment that service was slow and the cooked-to-order breakfasts were sometimes served with the wrong items. Plus, the restaurant sometimes seems short staffed.

If you were hoping for a river view from your room, it pays to book well in advance. A number of guests failed to do so and ended up disappointed to be looking out over a road. Less than a third of the rooms have the desired river views.
