Impressive selection of neighbours.
This is a suburban setting but with an impressive number of useful places within walking distance. Lygon Street, famous for its choice of restaurants, is an easy walk away. The Royal Women's Hospital and Royal Children's Hospital are both just along the road and The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is also close by. The University of Melbourne is just across the street. No need to go hungry with the 24-hour 7-Eleven being an easy stroll away.

Rooms are nicely decorated with plenty of space for storage.

The on-site gastro pub is worth a visit. Good food and prompt service.

Traffic and other noise related problems.
Rooms that are on the front of the building are subject to traffic noise. This isn't helped by the lack of double glazing, or by the noise coming from the bar downstairs. Parking is a real problem with most of the availability being limited to very short stays.

A confusing reception.
Hairdressers are the fountain of much knowledge and local gossip. The one next door will tell arriving guests that the hotel reception doesn't open till quite late in the morning. At the other end of the day, it will be closed, so you need to find a member of staff; probably working in the bar. Confusing? Yes it is. So is the Wi-Fi set-up which can be virtually useless.

Who do you turn to?
In the event of emergency, it would be a good idea to have a telephone in the room to get in touch with the reception people, or at least a mobile number to contact them. Currently, there's nothing.
