Negative Reviews
negative:
Food is a little overpriced.
Some guests at the Merchant House don’t feel like the added cost of the breakfasts is justified considering the quality of the experience. Small portions of food that just taste okay at best plus subpar service don’t make for a very memorable part of a person’s stay.
negative:
Work needs done on the guestroom windows.
Overall, the windows in each of the private rooms are not in the best shape. Some of them have been placed too high to get any sort of view, while others are wedged firmly closed and prevent people from opening them to get ventilation.
negative:
Bathrooms are small and inconvenient.
While each guestroom has a private bathroom, the facilities are much too small to be practical for many guests. The showers in particular are tight and many people find them to be hard to stand up in.
