Positive Reviews
positive:
A customer service improvement
This inn has recently changed hands and it seems that, in contrast to past guest experiences, things are improving here. Overall, visitors and locals alike have found that the owners are committed to offering friendly, warm service in a historic atmosphere. Little touches like theme and open mic nights help to add a bit of flair to this little country pub.
positive:
Dog-friendly
Guests were delighted to find that their four-legged friends are warmly welcomed here, sometimes even given a little treat for good behaviour. This is something that only adds to the overall charm of the atmosphere, a nice little touch that really helps to enhance the quality of the guest experience at this property.
positive:
Solid staff
The staff here are friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to dispense local travel tips and chat with guests. Locals in particular have been quick to note that this is a real contrast to the brusque, almost surly service for which this pub was formerly noted.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Heating issues
Recent past guests have reported problems with both the heating and hot water in their rooms. Despite the efforts of staff, these issues were unable to be swiftly resolved and unfortunately, this did have an impact on the stay of a number of guests.
negative:
Slow service in restaurant
While the staff here are friendly and helpful, it appears that there are some kinks to work out in terms of the quality of service in the pub's restaurant. Multiple guests report waiting a very long time between courses and there are also reports of consistently bungled food and drink orders.
negative:
Veggie options limited
The overall quality of food here is solid, but vegetarian guests have found that suitable menu offerings are disappointingly limited.
