OK, if you don't mind ‘roughing it'.
You wouldn't come here for a romantic break away … but, if on a tight budget, you'll probably take a deep breath and be glad of a roof over your head. It would be wrong to promise anything over and above this.
The Kingscliffe Guesthouse provides a largely self-catering base, in a conveniently located area of Manchester, close to Central Park Metrolink. Rooms at The Kingscliffe include: air conditioning and a TV with satellite channels and movies on demand. Bathroom facilities are shared. Towels are provided and a hairdryer is available on request. The guesthouse has a kitchen which is shared with other guests. Wi-Fi (surcharge) is available in the lobby area and free parking is to be found nearby. In addition to the self-catering/shared kitchen provided by the guesthouse, The Koffee Pot and Metro Cafe are popular breakfast venues. This area of Manchester has many food serving pubs and restaurants for later dining. Manchester’s Velodrome and Etihad Stadium are two km away. The Cathedral and Piccadilly Gardens are less than 4 km away and it is a 20-minute drive to Manchester Airport.

The owner is friendly enough and helpful when needed.
The main attraction in staying here is undoubtedly the price and yes, there is a breakfast facility. It's not to everyone's liking and there is an extra cost involved. If you are happy with DIY cereal, coffee and toast, it's here in the shared kitchen.
There's very little to commend this place other than the reasonable tariff. It is though, advisable to pay a little more and stay elsewhere where the accommodation has an acceptable level of cleanliness. As it is, rooms smell of tobacco … or is it something more sinister?
It all looks very run down and a bit intimidating if you are here alone. In reality people in neighbouring properties are quite friendly and have been known to put themselves out to be really helpful in the event of car breakdown or cases of emergency. 'Never judge a book by its cover'.
Having paid, your first inclination might be to put it down to experience and leave PDQ to find somewhere else … but, then, you'll be paying twice! Also, though, there's still an addition cost factor with very expensive taxi fares from the city centre. This isn't helped by the guest house being difficult to find.
