Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent transport links.
Situated a five-minute drive from the GRA ring road, the Star hotel is ideally placed for those venturing into or, of course, around the Capital. Those travelling without a vehiicle can make use of a direct bus into Rome Tiburtina Station, rent a car through the hotel or opt for a taxi.
positive:
Reasonably priced in all respects.
Most guests find the hotel excellent value for money, with the well-priced and generous breakfast buffet, excellent evening meals and bar drinks mentioned most frequently. Both pizza and pasta dishes come highly recommended by previous guests and the restaurant is regularly frequented by locals; testament to the quality of the food served.
positive:
Helpful, multi-lingual staff.
If you expect to arrive late in the day you will likely be pleased to see a friendly face as you walk through the door. Staff are praised for their friendly approach and helpful nature and the front desk is manned 24-hours, so the multi-lingual team are ready to cater to guest needs at all hours of the day.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Better soundproofing required.
Given its position on a main road, many guests are surprised that the rooms are not terribly well insulated against sound. Some rooms are worse-affected than others, so it may be worth discussing your options with the hotel before check-in.
negative:
Safety first.
There are plenty of dining options at the hotel but many like to attempt the short walk into Monterotondo to sample the local cuisine. Previous guests have suggested that the walk is not the safest however, with pavements missing in places; walkers should consider bringing a torch.
negative:
Wi-Fi can be hit and miss.
Given that business travellers make up a large proportion of the Star's clientele it is, perhaps, surprising that the Wi-Fi is, for some, slow and unreliable.
