Hotel Sportsmens Lodge (Studio City, USA)

The hotel staff are efficient and attentive. They are knowledgeable about the area and about things to do and see. Be sure to get acquainted with the hotel's history. You will find some big names have passed through like John Wayne, who taught his child how to fish in the trout pond that once belonged to the hotel.

The rooms are up to a good standard of cleanliness and the rooms have a modern style of décor. The pool area is lovely as well. The cafe serving breakfast is quaint and fairly priced.

The hotel has exuberant landscaping. The outside grounds are calming. You have trees, and other shrubbery along with water fountains and waterfalls. The pool area is especially pleasant and laid back. It's great for relaxing. The place is charming and appealing simultaneously. The hotel is a much deserved escape from the usual highrise accommodations in the area.

The hotel is a bit expensive and does not provide a mini-bar, fridge, and other amenities inside the room that make you feel good about giving up your hard earned cash.

Don't be surprised if you end-up dragging your own luggage up the stairs. There's no help as far as concierge services are concerned. For some reason, you expect it in this type of hotel. At any rate, it's more like it's up to whoever is on duty at the time and if they want to lend a helping hand.

The Wi-Fi should simply be excluded as it is extremely slow and goes off and on continuously. If you plan on getting work done, you may find it an impossible task. The suites aren't really suites and the soundproofing is the pits. You can hear people above you, under you, and next to you. It's very annoying, and don't be surprised if you see little critters like ants roaming around.
