Positive Reviews
positive:
Boutique-style rooms
Guests are consistently impressed by the standard of the bedrooms at this B&B, often commenting on how clean and spacious the rooms are, as well as the grand antique furnishings and free designer toiletries. Guests find that the rooms put everything they need close at hand.
positive:
Friendly hosts
Although a few guests comment that they saw very little of the owners and staff, many describe the standard of service here as friendly and attentive. Beware of staying over Christmas, though, as guests mention the B&B was like the Marie Celeste with no-one around at all.
positive:
Good location
Many guests liked the B&B's location near the Humber Bridge and River, often appreciating the views from the garden. There isn't a huge amount going on in the immediate area but, with a car in place, discovering local attractions is fairly simple.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some traffic noise
A small number of guests mention that they were disturbed by traffic noise from the adjacent Clive Sullivan Way. This is despite double glazing being in place. Light sleepers may have a problem with this, so pack earplugs and ask for a quiet room.
negative:
Breakfast costs extra
Some guests were a little disappointed to find themselves paying extra for breakfast. Also, some thought the cost was too high and that the portion size could have been more generous. Furthermore, the timing of breakfast won't suit everyone.
negative:
Cleanliness and maintenance
While this B&B seems to be fairly well kept, previous guests have mentioned some issues in regard to poor cleanliness and maintenance. The carpet in the annexe sounds like it needs replacing due to stains and there seems to be a lack of proper upkeep in the bathrooms.
