Hotel PangeaPeople is a Berlin hotel and hostel, within a few minutes walk of Alexanderplatz and close to all city attractions thanks to excellent public transport links. The hotel is 150 metres from the Hofbräu beer hall, ten minutes’ walk from shopping in Hackescher Markt and 15 minutes from the Museum Island on foot. Private single and twin rooms are available, as well as dormitories with lockable cabinets. The shared bathrooms also have lockable shower cabins, bed linen is included and the daily Wi-Fi charge is €1. The reception is open 24/7, offering tourist information, ticketing services, luggage storage and bike rentals. Towels, lockers, and common room computers are available for a fee. A ‘late riser’ breakfast buffet, packed lunches and dinner buffets are available, and there is a 6th floor bar with happy hour and recreation area. Hotel PangeaPeople is within 20 minutes of Hauptbahnhof Station and Brandenburger Tor.
PangeaPeople guests found the rooms and bathrooms to be surprisingly clean, comfortable and spacious for a hostel, enjoyed the common room to meet other travellers in and thought it generally proved to be of good value.
The hostel is located right in the middle of Berlin, minutes from Alexanderplatz and its fantastic transport connections, while attractions like the Museum Island and shopping and dining at Hackescher Markt were within easy walking distance.
Guests found the staff here helpful and friendly, and said they knew Berlin very well. The late riser buffet breakfasts were found to be good for a nice price, and likewise the dinner buffets.
Some of those who stayed at PangeaPeople were disappointed to find that the Wi-Fi costs €1 per day to use, and even still the connection quality was sometimes not very good.
Although guests were appreciative of the shared bathrooms being kept pretty clean, the tendency of the shower cubicles to flood a bit and the occasional temperature fluctuations were not so much appreciated.
Although this is not much of an issue in most parts of the year, the lack of air conditioning can make things a bit cosy in shared rooms during peak summer weather.
