About Hotel Montmartre Mon Amour
Hôtel Montmartre mon Amour is a four-star boutique hotel in the colourful neighbourhood of Montmartre, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
Rooms are individually themed and, while all have air conditioning, safe, LCD TV and hairdryer, Deluxe rooms (each an ode to a different French couple) have a lounge, universal docking station, minibar, Nespresso machine and bathrobes.
The hotel is designed around romance, and hotel services reflect this; in-room massages or babysitting can be booked, flowers arranged and dresses rented via the concierge. Reception is open 24-hours and Wi-Fi is free.
Breakfast is served buffet-style in the dining room or can be delivered to rooms, along with a light meal menu. Nearby restaurants, Babalou and Au Clocher de Montmartre are popular options for dinner.
Hôtel Montmartre mon Amour is mere steps from Sacré Cœur and a ten-minute walk from Place du Terte and the Moulin Rouge.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Romantic touches.
The hotel is primarily aimed at couples, and romantic touches are everywhere. Breakfasts feature heart-shaped waffles and French hot chocolate, you can cosy up and enjoy complimentary tea and cakes every afternoon and staff will be happy to recommend the perfect spot nearby for a romantic meal for two.
positive:
Convenient Montmartre location.
The hotel sits in a quiet location in what is a multi-cultural, bustling area. Previous guests describe it fondly, a small square with cafes frequented by locals and tourists alike, busy, but also peaceful and safe. Three major metro stations are within walking distance, and the Sacré Cœur is mere feet away.
positive:
Stylish, tasteful décor.
Some guests might expect a love themed hotel to be tacky, but most find the opposite. Rooms are beautifully, and tastefully, decorated and, while you can adopt all the romantic cliches and order rose petals for the bed and Champagne, if you wish, these are optional.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Modestly sized rooms.
As with most Parisian accommodation options, rooms at Hôtel Montmartre mon Amour are fairly compact. There is the option to upgrade to a more spacious Deluxe, however, if room size is important to you.
negative:
Cleaning is an afternoon affair.
Guest rooms are cleaned in afternoons as a matter of course so, if you're only planning to venture out in the mornings, you may find yourself inconvenienced once back at the hotel. Staff do advise, however, that you can request earlier cleaning if necessary.
negative:
Steps and slopes aplenty.
Montmartre, itself, is a large hill, which lends its name to the district where the hotel is located. Therefore, it will come as no surprise that the area has a large number of steps and steep slopes. There are ways of accessing the hotel whilst avoiding these, but it may take a little longer.
