Positive Reviews
positive:
Perfect location for Termini Station
Many, perhaps most, guests arrived in central Rome at Termini Station. Max was said to be less than two minutes walk from the main entrance. If it were any closer it would almost be on the platforms. Guests absolutely loved the convenience of just walking off the train and having such an easy route to get to their hotel.
positive:
Excellent Italian breakfast
It was pretty much impossible to find a bad word written about the breakfast at Max. Guests said it was a traditional Italian, with some savoury options added as well. Especially noted was the cappuccino, which was said to live up to the very high Italian standards.
positive:
Friendly and helpful staff
Guests mentioned that right from check-in it became apparent that the staff would have a big positive impact on their stay in Rome. They said that they offered a city map and good information on what to see if guests were open to receiving it.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Somewhat dodgy neighbourhood
Like many of the main railway stations in big European cities, the area around Termini Station is not everybody's cup of tea. The area attracts a lot of homeless people, drunks and sometimes petty criminals. This caused discomfort for some.
negative:
Street facing rooms a bit noisy
Though it does not seem that it surprised many, guests did point out that the area is very busy, with a lot of motorised traffic. Those in the rooms facing the road said that the sound of cars at night did disturb their sleep on occasion.
negative:
Difficult to find for some
A couple of guests mentioned that they found the hotel difficult to find. Like many smaller Italian hotels, it is only a small part of a larger building, so cannot have signage that is too prominent.
