Positive Reviews
positive:
Helpful front desk
Guests appreciated the fact that there always seemed to be someone at the front desk willing to assist in any way possible. They are pretty knowledgeable about the immediate surroundings, and can offer some really good advice on what's worth visiting in the vicinity.
positive:
The price is right
If the budget is tight, then the rooms here offer basic accommodation that won't break the bank. Guests said they felt a little more relaxed knowing that they could still travel, spend money on eateries close by, and have some spare change left at the end of the day.
positive:
Easy walk to attractions
If you don't have your own vehicle with you, you needn't be concerned. It's an easy walk to the Presidential Palace, and only a ten-minute walk to the Port of Santo Domingo. Guests found this location ideal if you enjoy a good walk, and browsing through the streets looking at unique and interesting shops.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Noisy area
Almost all guests suggest you bring along a set of earplugs especially if you are a light sleeper. The immediate surroundings are quite loud after dark with a lot of socialising and loud music going on.
negative:
Poorly lit hallways
There have been several reports of low levels of light in the corridors, and many guests narrowly avoided slipping because of the build-up of dampness there. Make sure you bring some good walking shoes along.
negative:
Communication a little bit of a struggle
Although the web site indicates guests will be welcomed in English, this proved to be a bit difficult for many guests. No all of the friendly front desk staff understood the English language enough to be able to communicate effectively, but by the end of the stay, guests did understand each other and even learnt a couple of new words.
