Positive Reviews
positive:
Beautiful setting and view
The view from the property was probably what most impressed guests about Lido Degli Spagnoli. The views from the pool terrace, and many of the rooms, are over the Med to San Pietro Island just offshore, and were described as lovely by many guests.
positive:
Very spacious rooms
While some did feel the rooms were a bit sparse, no guests seemed to be unhappy with the size of their room. They were described as spacious and more than big enough for the size party occupying the room.
positive:
Portopaglietto Beach nearby
Though the hotel is not directly on the beach, it is a fairly short walk to get there. Portopaglietto Beach is described as especially sheltered and beautiful, and guests felt privileged to be so close.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No al fresco meals
Several guests were astonished that the hotel serves all its meals indoors. Not only breakfast, which is served in the basement breakfast room, but the restaurant also only had indoor tables. As far as the guests could see it would have been a fairly simple matter to put tables out on the terrace in fine weather, but for some reason this was not done.
negative:
Some rooms face the back
Though it seems most rooms do face the sea, there are some described as “hill view”. To say that guests in these rooms were disappointed is an understatement. The views are described as more “parking lot” than “hill”. Those who appreciate nice views are advised to try to secure a sea view room.
negative:
Weddings in summer
The hotel is a popular wedding venue, so on many summer weekends wedding parties create a bit of noise, and according to guests certain sections around the pool terrace can be closed of to others for some time during the festivities.
