The hotel dates back to the Victorian era and guests were pleased to find that the building retains many original period features. The communal rooms including the lobby and the dining room have been described as very elegant and well-appointed and guests enjoyed spending time in the comfortable lounge, reading or having a few pre-dinner drinks. .

Guests were pleased to find lots of things to do at the hotel during their free time. The outdoor- pool was said to be immaculately presented and many appreciated the convenience of the swim-up bar. Apart from the spa and gym which were also described as modern and well-equipped, the hotel also offers a guided tour of the premises . .

The hotel overlooks the ocean and the beach is just a short stroll away from the main building. Guests appreciated not having to get in their cars to reach the local attractions and also found it convenient being close to many local bars and restaurants.

Some of the guests were disappointed to find that their rooms were considerably smaller than they had expected. The suites were described as quite compact with very little furniture and not enough storage space for guests to stow away their belongings. .

The parking lot was said to be quite far from the main hotel building and guests objected having to walk quite a bit from their cars to the reception, particularly those carrying heavy luggage. .

Those who ordered food from room service said that the quality of the items was sub-standard and some guests said that their dishes were delivered cold. .
