About Hotel Golden Sands
Located just steps from the beach, and featuring its own beach
club right on the sand, Hotel Golden Sands Hotel is a smaller modern property
offering classical style accommodation.
The rooms are newly renovated and are decorated in a charmingly casual island style. Each features en-suite bathroom, small kitchenette, in room safe, telephone and private balcony with views.
Reception is open 24 hours and can assist with laundry and local information. Hotel Golden Sands star attraction is certainly its lovely pool area, compact, but perfectly formed and a great place to enjoy the good life, poolside.
The Ixoria Restaurant has a terrific outdoor terrace and specialises in serving local Bajan cuisine, including the famous “pudding and souse” at the weekends.
The beach just across the road is the main attraction, but guests travelling further afield will find bustling Bridgetown approximately 7.5 miles away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Fantastic beach right across the road
The little beach across the road was by far what guests most appreciated about their stay at Golden Sands. It was described as so deserted it could almost have been a private beach, but was quite lovely and a great spot to suntan or swim.
positive:
Welcoming and friendly host and staff
While there were one or two contrary opinions, the majority of guests complimented the host, a Ms Johnson, and her staff for running a tight ship and being unfailingly welcoming and friendly.
positive:
Bus stop right out front
A couple of guests mentioned that you could quite conceivably see a good deal of the island without hiring a car or going on expensive tours. The public bus system was said to be quite extensive, with a useful stop right outside the hotel.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Pool area could be better
Several guests mentioned that they didn't really much care for the pool area. Unfortunately they did not really elaborate, but it seems that the pool itself may be a bit on the small side.
negative:
Food a bit questionable
Though it did attract some good reviews as well, the majority did not seem very impressed with the on-site restaurant, saying the variety was poor and much better food and value for money could be had at other restaurants off-site.
negative:
Two twins do not a double bed make
It was mentioned that the hotel sometimes pushes two beds together for guests who requested a double, but couldn't be accommodated. While this is fairly common practice in many hotels, this fact did not make guests feel any better about their awkward bed.
