      Esplanade is a family-run hotel and the staff make a really pleasant atmosphere. They are always smiling and seem genuinely happy to see you. They will deal with any problems you may have in a polite and efficient way.

      Breakfast here is good, whether you are having the full English option or would rather go for cereal or porridge. It'll satisfy you before you go about your morning.

      The hotel has really impressive views of the seafront, the sea and the pier. If you aren't lucky enough to get a room which faces that way, then you can still experience this delightful vista while you are eating your breakfast.

      The internet is limited.

      The Wi-Fi connection doesn't quite stretch the full length of the hotel, so there is a chance that you won't be able to get online from the comfort of your room and will have to head downstairs to a public area instead.

      Some of the bathrooms at Esplanade, while modern, are a touch small and the showers don't have the strongest water pressure. Also, it can take a while for the hot water to reveal itself.
