Some guests did not have a pleasant stay as they encountered minor maintenance issues which lowered their expectation of how a DoubleTree operating under the Hilton brand should be run. Major complaints included poor water pressure and heating and cooling systems not working effectively.

Some non-smoking guests had the unfortunate experience of not being housed in a non-smoking room on their arrival and had to request a change to their room. Some travellers who were in Bratislava to explore the city and its cultural sites thought that the hotel was a little too far out of the centre to be convenient to their needs and had they known that they had a commute into the centre they indicated in their reviews that they would have booked elsewhere.
