Positive Reviews
positive:
Very friendly and helpful staff
One of the very first things guests mentioned in their reviews was that the staff at the hotel were truly exceptional. They were described as very friendly and welcoming and seemed to take care of not only the big issues, but the small details as well, perhaps the most reliable sign that guests were at a true luxury property.
positive:
Fantastic décor and design
As could perhaps be expected, since the hotel is housed in a small well-restored chateau, guests were very impressed with the general design and feel of the property. They felt that the restoration had been very thoughtful, and that together with the lovely gardens, created a special and very beautiful property.
positive:
Amazing food from the in-house restaurant
Guests were very impressed with the quality of food that came our of the hotel's kitchen. They said that, even by the high regional standards for cuisine, the hotel's in-house restaurant exceeded all these. It was even mentioned that the restaurant probably deserves a Michelin star.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some distance from central Bordeaux
Some guests who were keen to spend most of their time exploring the city itself were a little unhappy with the location of the hotel. They said that it was a bit far from central Bordeaux and that the 25-minute tram ride each way to the city centre got to be a bit much if it had to be taken multiple times.
negative:
Restaurant sometimes closed
Guests travelling in the slower months reported that the restaurant was not always open every day of the week, leading to quite a bit of disappointment for those who had anticipated a fine dining experience.
negative:
Some noise issues
A number of guests felt that their rooms were not properly soundproofed, with them being able to hear the traffic passing by on the nearby road.
