Hotel Del Almirante (Es Castell, Spain)

Many rooms are more than are advertised and offer the space and amenities of chalets or apartments rather than standard motel rooms. Many rooms have direct access to the pool and all rooms are spacious and comfortable.

The location is perfect for those who want to escape a busy tourist lifestyle, but still have access to civilization. The hotel is close to the harbour area and town of Es Castell. The grounds are quiet with many walking paths and a bus stop is close by. For those who want to explore, the main area is about a 20-minute walk down wooded paths.

The guest house is quite historic and houses beautiful artefacts and antiques. For those who love history, especially marine history, this would be a great stay. The common areas are just lovely with beautiful views of the bay.

For the standard rooms, the stay is much more basic. The furnishing are simple, but functional. There's simply no luxury unless you pay the higher prices. The air conditioning can't quite keep pace with the heat and the food leaves a lot to be desired.

There is old...and then there is old and tired. The guest rooms really need to be spruced up and made to appeal instead of looking used and worn by frequent guest use.

The pool is quite small and the sun lounging area isn't large enough for all the guest rooms. Relaxing is often a problem as the pool gets crowded and sun loungers are claimed by others early on.
