Hotel Costa Sur Resort & Spa (Puerto Vallarta, Mexico)

Guests love the idyllic setting of the Costa Sur, in particular the stunning views from their terraces. Overlooking the beach, you feel literally surrounded by the ocean like you're on a cruise-liner.

Whilst many guests don't think much of the beach in itself, the private lagoon is a big hit. Protected from the ocean, its clear calm waters mean you can swim or snorkel easily whilst taking a peek at the colorful fish and coral beneath.

Many guests find the resort ideal for a quiet escape, yet having the buzzing atmosphere of Puerto Vallarta and its famous Romantic Zone within reach. You can relax in the resort and grab a meal or a drink downtown in just a 10-minute drive.

The quality of the Wi-Fi leaves a lot to be desired if guests' comments are anything to go by. Few seem to get reliable access in their rooms and the quality would appear to get worse the further you get from reception. Many find that they can only connect properly in the lobby itself.

The hotel seems to be showing its age with some guests finding it a bit worn around the edges. Much of this, however, may be down to poor levels of maintenance. There are relatively frequent reports of dis-functioning facilities such as broken toilets and showers.

Being in such a lovely setting, the hotel is naturally geared up for weddings. This can, however, taint the overall experience of other guests as the wedding groups take over. The pools become crowded and there is often lots of noise going on into the night.
