About Hotel C2
Hotel C2 Hotel is housed in an exquisitely repurposed 19th century villa, and is right in the centre of Marseille.
Inspired by Le Corbusier, Frank Llyod Wright, and other modernist designers, the décor creates such an overwhelming sense of sophistication that the standard modern amenities, though all present, seem to be forgotten.
The in-house spa offers a tranquil retreat in the centre of Marseille’s hustle and bustle, and offers guests a very wide array of treatments to refresh and rejuvenate.
The on-site restaurant offers breakfast daily, and a very popular Sunday Brunch. There’s also an uber-trendy designer bar, popular with guests and the Marseillais alike.
The bustling Vieux Port is just 0.5 miles away, while the modernist Mueum of European and Mediterranean Civilisation is 1.5 miles away, and reachable by public transport.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Trendy, luxurious and chic design
This is a true “Design Hotel”, and many guests comment on the beautiful surroundings, and how these create a unique, sophisticated atmosphere. They also mention that, unlike many other trendy hotels, the decor is not completely overbearing. Also often mentioned, and appreciated, are the luxury Hermes bath products in each room.
positive:
Rooms larger than expected
Unlike many guests experience with hotels in Europe, many where very pleasantly surprised to find that their rooms where in fact much more spacious than they anticipated.
positive:
Good location for the Vieux Port
The hotel is very central, so apart from the typical city amenities, like great restaurants and bars in the surrounding area, guests also love the fact that they can walk to what is arguably Marseilles' top attraction, the Vieux Port.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A couple of small issues with staff members
It is not a widespread issue, but some guests do mention that the service level from the staff does not quite match the luxurious surroundings. It has been suggested that more training is needed so that staff can deliver more refined service.
negative:
Very limited on-site parking
While there is valet parking, it is quite far from the hotel. So there are long delays in getting your car returned. Actual on-site parking is extremely limited, so guests arriving by car are advised to check the current situation with the hotel beforehand.
negative:
Noise issues on the ground floor
There are a couple of rooms on the ground floor that seem to get quite a lot of both street noise, and noise from the public areas. It would be best to request a room on a higher floor.
