Byron Motor Lodge prides itself on offering affordable 3-star accommodation and a warm environment in the heart of Byron Bay.
All rooms feature queen size beds and and include air conditioning, ceiling fans, flat-screen TV, en suite bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities. Hairdryers and complimentary toiletries are also provided. Rooms with a kitchenette are available on request.
The property features an outdoor pool decked with sun loungers and an outdoor barbecue area. There is also coin-operated guest laundry. Parking is free and guests can park outside their motel door. The front desk service provides tourist information and luggage storage.

The Byron Bay Markets are a minutes’ walk from Byron Motor Lodge and the beach is a five-minute walk away. The Johnson Street bus terminal is a few minutes’ walk away.

The main shops, cafes and restaurants are less than five-minutes' walk away and a Woolworth supermarket is ten-minutes' walk away. The beach is also a five-minute walk from the motel and both the Captain Cook Lookout and the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse can be reached within 30-minutes' walk.

The rooms are clean, simply furnished and well presented with all the basic amenities provided, including the added perk of having tea and coffee making facilities.

Discrepancy between website photos actual rooms
Guests reported that motel is old and rundown and the website photos showcasing the rooms are not representative of the actual rooms. The rooms were found to be small in size and appointed with old and outdated furnishings. Some of the fixtures were in poor condition, the air conditioning did not always function and the beds were also old and in need of replacing. Guests felt that the hotel charges premium prices for the location but fails to deliver in quality and value for money.

Poor Wi-Fi connection
Although free Wi-Fi is included in the room rate, many guests reported problems with the service. Guests complained that the connection was either weak and slow or they could not connect to the Wi-Fi at all. Those in rooms farthest from the reception desk seemed to experience this problem.

Guests reported that the rooms were not cleaned to a high standard and that the carpet, which was stained, needed replacing.
