Hotel & bar Royal taste Amsterdam (Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Guests found the staff at Royal Taste to be very nice and helpful, giving attentive service, and there was always someone on hand to assist.

The location was found to be fantastic; right in Red Light District, close to the train station, surrounded by bars, cafes, restaurants and entertainment, but too not noisy despite this. Only a few people mentioned noise disturbance, but a fair number of stag parties have stayed here, so it may be that sleeping was not a huge priority of many guests.

People found the rooms to be spacious, clean , some had canal views and guests enjoyed the retro-inspired decor, finding the rooms to be overall good value for Amsterdam. The little bar downstairs was also a favourite, with good beer, a cosy atmosphere and late opening hours, as well as a the chance to watch the canal-life go by.

With steep stairs, plenty of them and no lift, guests found Royal Taste to be a challenge for those with lots of heavy luggage, mobility issues or unwilling legs after a night out.

Although you can use the Wi-Fi in the common areas, you may find yourself out of luck if you want to do the same in the bedrooms.

Guests reported that at least some of the bathrooms are separate from bedrooms, and are found in hallway — a little inconvenient for the tastes of some.
