Positive Reviews
positive:
Attentive service, buffet your way into the day.
The staff members are said to provide friendly and attentive service and the breakfast buffets were generally found to be tasty, with a good variety of fare on offer for all dietary needs. Having said this, the hot dishes did not meet the satisfaction of a few guests, who especially did not like cold boiled eggs.
positive:
Charming decor and canal views for some.
Antica Locanda Al Gambero's decor is said to be traditional and charming and the rooms were found to be clean, tidy, had functional bathrooms and — sometimes a rarity in Venice — tea and coffee-making facilities. On top of this, guests were happy to find that many rooms looked out over a canal, complete with singing gondoliers.
positive:
Minutes from St.Mark's and Rialto Bridge.
Those who stayed were satisfied to find they could walk for less than five minutes and reach both St. Mark's Square, and the Rialto Bridge, not to mention the vaporetto water bus stop at the latter. Furthermore, the hotel is apparently within walking distance of many restaurants, including one just underneath, where guests said they were given a discount.
