About El Albergue

Hostal El Albergue de León is a genuinely Nicaraguan house where we provide a total immersion in the local culture. We are the first hostel of Nicaraguan capital and some of the first with more than 12 years of experience. We promote a sustainable and responsible local tourism that allows you to enjoy our culture in thebest way. An ideal place to relax in a flourishing patio overlooking the artistic mural that describes the city CITY OF LOCOS AND POETS as Leon is known. Here you can learn about the local culture, meet and talk with new friends, practice your Spanish, read a good book (book exchange or book recommendations), play guitar or other musical instruments (we organize chamber concerts or invite local musicians to to interpret the songs of Nicaragua), to recite a poem (nights of poetry), to share their experiences of trip (presentations of photos in our projector or nocturnal conversations ...), to cook a plate of their country or to learn to cook a local, to take a few drinks, playing chess or cards, painting, watching a documentary about Nicaraguan history, taking photos, sitting outside on the rocking chairs (ask at reception) and then going to discover León, Nicaragua. Many of our guests stay here longer than planned considering The Albergue as the home away from home. We are happy to help you relax, we are a good community, caring and sharing. Of course, we are not perfect, so you can always leave us suggestions at the reception and we will be happy to help. Our beautiful early 19thcentury home is filled with antiques from the owners'family. It is located in one of the most strategic areas of the city, very close to many attractions and services 5 minutes from the Fruit Market, The supermarket, La Farmacia, La Comidería, Restaurants, Bars and some parks where you can appreciate the environment of the people of León. The Albergue de León is well known in the city, so you can also ask your taxi driver or tricycle to take you to the hostel giving the following address: Petronic gas station half a block down. We have three private rooms, with private or shared bathroom, ideal for small groups or families. We also offer 2 bedrooms (10 or 6 bed dorms), ideal for larger groups or travelers willing to share with other people. Large kitchen to cook and enjoy your meal in a multicultural environment.
