The three-star Fleur de Lis Beach Motel has an impressive location; on the beach at Wildwood Crest and with a backdrop comprising both scenic and social appeal. Studios and one and two bedroom apartments are cheerfully decorated. They include flat-screen TV, microwave, mini-refrigerator and coffeemaker. Some accommodation features a kitchenette and ocean views. The bathroom contains complimentary toiletries. Young children stay free. There are 24-hour front desk and concierge services at the air-conditioned Fleur de Lis Beach Motel. Free parking and Wi-Fi are offered; plus, there is a games room, outdoor pool and children’s pool. A self-serve laundry is also provided. Shore Store and CVS are among the local convenience stores. Breakfast cafes include The Admiral and Uncle Bill’s. Dam’s, Alfe’s and Bandanas are among the many local restaurants. It’s a short walk to the pop-culture appeal of Doo Wop Experience and to Wildwood Convention Center.
The pool is clean, tidy, not over-crowded and heated ... with a slide and other things to keep the kids happy. It's just off the beach - maybe 50 yards or so - but the pool is great because sometimes the beach itself gets a little bit breezy.
Regular guests - and there are plenty of them - remark on the regular updates and obvious ongoing investment by the owners. Members of staff know lots of guests by name because they've seen them on so many occasions in the past.
Everywhere is spotless; plus, step into the bathroom and you could be forgiven for thinking that it has just been installed - that's how clean it is! The bathroom itself includes some really nice freebie toiletries! Some accommodation has spectacular ocean views, but you have to be quick off the mark to book these as early as possible. Even though the hotel next door blares out the music, it's not obtrusive. Also, there's no noise problem resulting from the adjacent street.
Some rooms are very much on the small side. Outside, the balcony isn't private. This detracts, a lot, from the appeal.
Don't rely on the Wi-Fi. Sometimes it's OK and at others, not so. You won't feel under any pressure - not from the shower, anyway. Water pressure is very up and down.
It's a pity that the pool shuts down - along with the poolside fun - so early in the evening.
