Tucked away amidst the extraordinary landscape of the Vulkaneifel with its volcanic lakes, the holiday home is situated near the Moselle river. It is a cosy, former forester's lodge suitable for up to 8 people, situated just outside the municipality Filz, on the edge of the forest and surrounded by meadows. Say hello to the horses, cows and deer/roes that graze nearby. On the ground floor of the house, you'll find the cosy living room with a large wood stove and a reading corner. It is adjacent to the terrace, which comes with a barbecue, and to the large dining room. The fully equipped kitchen has a stove with 4 ceramic hobs, a fridge and a dishwasher. A small bathroom with shower and WC (handicapped accessible) is also located on the ground floor. A big, easily walkable wooden staircase leads to the upstairs living area with 2 bedrooms with double bed, a bedroom with a waterbed for 2 people and a bunk bed as well as a nice bathroom with shower and WC. Towels, bed linen and kitchen towels, a cot and high chair are provided. The area offers the usual infrastructure facilities. In the nearby Ulmen (8 km) or Lutzerath (6 km) you'll find all the common supermarkets, physicians, banks and restaurants. If you're looking for relaxation, go and visit the Vulkaneifel Therme in Bad Bertrich – the only thermal bath with Glauber salt pools in Europe. Shopping lovers will get their money's worth in Koblenz or Trier. The centrally located Ulmen/Eifel makes it easy to visit destinations that are a little further away, such as Luxembourg, France and Belgium. Ulmen is also in close proximity to the Nürburgring where you can watch top-class motor races. The Moselle and its romantic small towns, e.g. Cochem and Bernkastel-Kues, the vineyards -including the steepest vineyard Calmont with its via ferrata- and the Eifel's volcanic lakes (some are suitable for swimming) want to be explored. Hikers can enjoy the Eifel's well-marked hiking trails such as the Lieserpfad and the Eifel- & Moselsteig: signposted cycle routes, e.g. the Maare-Mosel-Radweg from Daun to Bernkastel-Kues with bus service, and designated MTB routes attract cyclists and mountain bikers.
