A delicious buffet breakfast forms part of the package at Dome Hotel. Anchor Restaurant specialises in scrumptious seafood dishes, while Dome Cafe is ideal for authentic Cypriot cuisine, snacks, and drinks. American Bar ensures there's no shortage of ice-cold drinks.
The 16th-century Kyrenia Castle is less than a ten-minute walk from the hotel. The charming little Icon Museum is just 200 metres away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Location provides convenience and amazing views
The hotel is placed on prime real estate right on the beach
as well as really close to the heart of Kyrenia's historic, entertainment and
cultural centre. Furthermore, practically all the rooms enjoy a majestic view
given the nearby mountains seen from the back and the sea viewed at the front
of the hotel.
positive:
Breakfast is generous and varied
The hotel's food and drink in general receives positive
reviews, but the breakfast buffet is top quality with plenty of choices and a
good mix of local Cypriot options as well as continental-style food.
positive:
Lots of space to relax at terrace and pools
There are two large swimming pools on the property, both with several sun-loungers around them and panoramic views of the surrounding Mediterranean Sea. The Dome Café and pool bar are also complemented by sun terraces, so there is plenty of space to soak up the sun and the views in warm weather.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Bathrooms are a little small
Although the guest rooms and suites are relatively large,
the ensuite bathrooms are quite small with limited ventilation. They do however
have power showers and are provided with toiletries.
negative:
Signs of the property's age
The hotel being over 80 years old adds a touch of charm and
intrigue to it, however in some areas this age has started to show and could do
with some refreshing, for example some of the room furniture, some carpets and
tiling, etc.
negative:
Unreliable Wi-Fi
There is wireless internet available free of charge in all
rooms, however previous guests have found it to be quite slow and weak, so
perhaps not suitable for work or high data/bandwidth needs.
