Positive Reviews
positive:
Designed for cruise guests.
It's a great location with easy access to the airport and to the cruise ships leaving from Fort Lauderdale. Rooms are very clean and staff are ultra helpful. There's a self laundry, particularly useful for cruising guests; but, strangely, the front desk doesn't supply change to operate the equipment.
positive:
Free parking.
Free parking extends to guests needing to park their vehicles for the duration of their cruise.
positive:
The price is right!
It fulfills its role as a hotel, conveniently placed for business and holiday travel centers. In that respect, it couldn't be better and well worth finding (*it's not easy!), hidden behind the Comfort Inn and Best western. There are a number of restaurants nearby, plus an outside shopping mall; useful for those last minute, pre-cruise, requirements.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Frying tonight ... and every night
It hits you as you enter the hotel; that smell of rancid cooking oil and a general 'pong' of cooked food. This really is a very unfortunate first impression ... and one that permeates everywhere!
negative:
Sensitive air con.
The cold air is too cold; try altering it and the room becomes hot and humid. You feel a bit like a miserable fortune teller ... because, there's no happy medium!
negative:
Afternoon service is a shipwreck
You'll be on the rocks when trying to get food and bar service here, prior to the 5pm main event when the bar actually opens. It would be great to enjoy a drink or two before leaving for that cruise ... but, 'oh,buoy', prepare for a sinking feeling! Unless you can lean on a member of staff to serve drinks, your later view of 'dry' land from the departing cruise ship will take on a new and special meaning!
