There are huge cleanliness issues that are queuing up to be addressed. Everything in the rooms and public areas is old and unbelievably filthy. Curtains are falling apart and so is the furniture. Bathrooms are disgusting; covered in stains and hair belonging to previous guests. There’s plenty of mold in evidence too. Smoking seems to be a free for all, resulting in an overpowering smell throughout. All this is in addition to the worrying number of dogs roaming around – inside and outside the building. The only positive features are members of management and staff who are friendly and pleasant in the face of difficult circumstances. The tariffs are cheap, but not enough to encourage you to stay here during ongoing renovations. No way!

The hot water in the bath is not apparent in the shower which remains freezing cold. It’s a case of Russian Roulette with electrical sockets – some work, but most don’t. The fridge is kaput and they’ve chosen to let the room anyway with a vandalized TV remote. A final sting in this sorry ‘tale’.

The air conditioning is deafening so you are bound to be awake in time for the scheduled early breakfast. Staff members appear not to have air con in their accommodation and sleep through it, soundly. No sign of staff or breakfast! Later, when it does materialise, breakfast is well below mediocre.
