The Three Pickerels is a traditional bed and breakfast property located above a pub on the edge of New Bedford river, close to Ely. Complimentary Wi-Fi, sit outs overlooking the water and charming, well equipped rooms are some of the attractions here. There are four sumptuous, non smoking rooms with en suite facilities, big beds and large wardrobes. Flat screen TV, electric kettle, extra pillows, rain showers and toiletries are available in all rooms. All rooms have lovely views. The Three Pickerels offers lovely outdoor deck and spaces for guests to enjoy. Onsite parking is available. The Three Pickerels restaurant has a varied menu including traditional local fare and Mediterranean cuisine as well. Ingredients are freshly and locally sourced. Walks in the countryside and the Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve are some attractions of the area.
The Three Pickerels is on the bank of a river and set in a very lovely countryside about eight miles from Ely. Guests really enjoyed the location and the quiet and relaxing stays offered here. There are lovely views from the rooms and restful sleep to be enjoyed here.
There are just four rooms at this hotel but they are nicely done up, comfortable and well appointed. The property is very clean and well looked after. The rooms are recently refurbished said guests. The staff is welcoming and friendly according to guests, going out of their way to help out guests in any way they can.
Though the choice is not very varied, the food is said to be very good and can be enjoyed in a lovely setting. Breakfast receives very good reviews as does the choice of beer and other beverages offered here.
Both business and leisure guests enjoyed the location of the hotel in the countryside but found that it was a little inconvenient in terms of proximity to the city. Others who were looking for a quiet stay in picturesque surroundings found this to be a plus.
Set as it is off the beaten track, The Three Pickerels is not very easy to find. Guests had difficulty finding the place without their sat nav systems.
