positive:
The Rooms Are Huge
Many guests have said that the rooms at the inn are huge.
They are more like full flats than rooms. They have bathrooms, living areas,
and kitchenettes. So, you can be sure of a completely comfortable stay and as
much privacy as you want, whether you're staying for one night or several.
positive:
Welcoming Atmosphere
Several guests commented that they didn't expect the pub atmosphere to be as friendly and welcoming as it is. Even the locals who frequent the pub are friendly towards temporary guests, and the staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful as well.
positive:
Drive, it's a Great Base for Sightseeing
The
inn and pub is located right on the A38 roadway. You can easily drive the short
distance to Bristol Centre, Gloucester, or other points in the surrounding area

Can be Breakfast Confusion
While a continental breakfast is provided as part of the room rental, guests were surprised that it was self-serve and provided in the fridges in their rooms. They were also surprised to learn that there is an additional charge for having breakfast in the actual pub. So, be aware of that before you stay.
negative:
Road Outside is Loud
The road noise from A38 is very load at times, even in the middle of the night, and especially first thing in the morning. So, you shouldn't expect to be able to sleep in unless you wear earplugs to bed.
negative:
Rooms Lack Curtains
None of the rooms have dark curtains, and several of them face a bright street light. You should be prepared to deal with the glare from the light throughout the night, unless you wear a blindfold or otherwise cover your face.
