Bed & Breakfast Moiras Encantadas (Albufeira, Portugal)

The room is clean, pleasantly decorated and well appointed. The themes are rustic and homely. Rooms are cleaned daily and there is good, private parking. Perfect! Wi-Fi is also available, but only in the lobby area.

Breakfast is good, with plenty of variety and overseen by friendly members of staff. Later, the restaurant itself offers a well-priced and varied menu comprising local and international dishes. Weather permitting – and it usually does – what could be better than enjoying a meal here, outside and under the olive trees.

If you can drag yourself away from this welcoming atmosphere, the centre of Albufeira is only a short car or taxi journey away.

First; the accommodation has no title and is virtually impossible to find. When you do eventually stumble across it, the property is clearly a restaurant … with letting rooms as a secondary function. The waiter/waitress members of staff you meet initially, seem to have no knowledge of the accommodation side of things; so the problem persists.

If you turn the air conditioning off at night, you invite a build-up of heat and humidity which is more likely to keep you awake than the air-con itself.

There’s a cool response to the hot water situation in the morning. Quite often, there either isn’t any hot water at all, or it’s only tepid. The system obviously can’t cope with guests needing to wash and shower at more or less the same time.
