About Glan Llugwy Guest House
Situated in a prime position on the banks of the Llugwy River, the Glan Llugwy Guest House offers cosy accommodation and warm Welsh hospitality.
The rooms are nicely furnished, and feature wash basins, colour TV’s and tea/coffee stations. One of the four rooms is en-suite, while the remainder share a bathroom.
The guest lounge is a great place to relax with a book. The guest house has a small library with books on the local area.
Breakfast is served every morning with guests choosing between traditional, vegetarian and the mysteriously named alternative breakfast. For other meals the nearby village offers some great options.
Betws-y-Coed is known as the gateway to Snowdonia for good reason. It is in a lovely spot within the park itself, and there many hikes and bike rides guests can set off on right from their front door. The Snowdon Mountain Railway in Llanberis is just 15.3 miles from Glan Llugwy.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Wonderful hosts
The conduct of the hosts was by far what most impressed guests about Glan Llugwy. They were described as incredibly helpful and welcoming, but even more important, as a terrific source of local knowledge. Guests felt that they could ask them anything about the local area and get an informative and useful answer in return.
positive:
Perfect location for exploring Snowdonia
It's fair to say that most guests had come to stay in order to explore Snowdonia. To this end they found the B&B a good base, but more than that, the town of Betws-y-Coed also received praise as a great spot to return to after touring or climbing.
positive:
Excellent breakfast
Guests were very happy to discover that the B&B got the
second “B” just right. The breakfast was described as tasty and filling, with
guests being presented with many options, rather than just the cooked staples.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No Wi-Fi available
Though this would have been a positive feature to many, others were not so impressed. Guests mentioned that there is no Wi-Fi, or even a communal computer, available. Those with an urgent need for connectivity should check whether their carrier has 3G or 4G service in the area.
negative:
Maybe a little dated
While not a common complaint, there was some evidence that the room décor might be getting just a little dated. Guests do not think it is too bad yet, but that the rooms may soon need an update.

Some questions regarding value
It wasn't really that any guests thought they had received poor value, but more that they had received pretty much standard value. Perhaps in comparison to the other aspects of the hotel, which were often regarded as exceptional, they were just a tiny bit disappointed that they hadn't got a great bargain as well.
