Positive Reviews
positive:
A relaxing Salzburg hotel.
The rooms are fine and really quite spacious. Not OTT, but clean and very relaxing. It's a family run hotel with an authentic Austrian feel. Breakfast is very good and reasonable value. There's a large covered beer garden to the rear; very popular with visitors. The location is leafy, quiet and close to the immaculate communal cemetery. So, no ... it isn't quite in the dead centre of Salzburg!
positive:
Location strikes the right note.
It's a short distance from the centre - so quieter! - but the bus service leaves from nearby. No need to consider taking the car * which is parked up free of charge! Truly, a walk around the adjoining cemetery is a fascinating experience.
positive:
Very easy-going.
Checking in and out is leisurely, yet efficient. Staff members are very customer focused and exceptionally helpful. The restaurant food is very good too. You are welcome to sit there, with drinks, for as long as you wish whilst waiting for the opening time. It's that sort of place!
Negative Reviews
negative:
A discordant Sound of Music.
Here, in the land of yodelling 'Marias', some things are not very 'far' from … absolute 'doh'! When combined with iffy room cleanliness, poor maintenance issues will not, frankly, be ... 'some of your favourite things'..
negative:
So long, farewell' to many staff.
Very few members of staff speak English. Maybe that's why so many seem so 'anti'? Cleaners, though, are great and seem able to traverse the language barrier … which some of their more highly paid colleagues just can't clamber over.
negative:
If it wasn't for the houses in between'.
There are glorious views of the majestic mountains. Unfortunately, recent adjacent property development means that they are obliterated and denied to you
